What is your steel structure capacity?

Answer:

Currently our capacity for transmission and substations steel structures is 3 million pounds per month.

Can you design lattice towers?

Answer:

Yes.

Q3.

Do you have your own galvanizing kettle?

Answer:

No. We have long term relationships built with a number of galvanizers who have done an outstanding job of keeping our business.

Can you work directly with the switch manufacture to coordinate mountings?

Answer:

Yes. We would be more than happy to work with your preferred switch manufacture.

What types of steel structures do you fabricate?

Answer:

We fabricate dead end structures, standard shape and tapered tubular equipment stands, lattice transmission towers, tapered tubular transmission poles, wood pole equivalents, and specialized structures.

What are your standard lead times for steel structures?

Answer:

For fabrication only, standard lead time is 6-8 weeks. For design and fabrication, standard lead time for < 50K pounds is 16-18 weeks. For design and fabrication, standard lead time for > 50K pounds is 20-22 weeks.

What are your standard lead times for your wood products?

Answer:

Wood transmission arm assemblies standard lead time for 60+ structures is 6-8 weeks. Small common items is 3-4 weeks and we keep up to 40' timbers in stock.

Wood distribution crossarms standard lead time is 3-4 weeks and we keep 8' and 10' arms in stock.

Do you stock Wood Pole Equivalents (WPE)?

Answer:

We do not currently stock Wood Pole Equivalents. They are fabricated as they are ordered.

Do you have in-house CAD Detailers?

Answer:

Yes. DIS-TRAN Steel, LLC currently has 14 full time CAD Detailers on staff.

Do you have in-house engineering?

Answer:

Yes. DIS-TRAN Steel, LLC currently has 8 full time engineers on staff.

DIS-TRAN Wood Products, LLC and DIS-TRAN Steel, LLC strive to do our part to create a culture of environmental responsibility. We have designed our Green Initiative to lessen our environmental impact.

How long has DIS-TRAN been in business?

Answer:

DIS-TRAN is a family of companies consisting of DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations, LLC; DIS-TRAN Steel, LLC; and DIS-TRAN Wood Products, LLC. Overall, the DIS-TRAN companies have been serving the high voltage electric utility industry since 1965. In 2010 our two fabricating facilities merged to DIS-TRAN Steel, LLC.
